Social Security rambling and muses

There are many changes which are taking place in the Social Security Administration and on Social Security benefits after the recent election of Mr. Trump. He is moving to reduce regulations and benefits for all people especially for those who are on Social Security.

Some of the changes are that where the treating physician used to have great weight and be one of the main basis for a positive finding for Social Security benefits, that has now changed and the treating doctor is only one bit of evidence that can be used. Regarding the Veteran’s Administration, if you are receiving VA benefits and they have found a level of disability that is no longer a main source of medical information to prove Social Security. Again, it’s being reduced so that it has no more weight than any one doctor or the physician from the Disability Evaluation Unit of Social Security who evaluates you. All of this is being done to reduce the payment of Social Security and reduce the number of individuals that can claim Social Security benefits.

If you are on Social Security then be prepared to receive a Notice of Review. The current administration is asking Social Security to review everybody with the view of taking them off Social Security and Social Security benefits. If you are on Social Security then be sure that you are seeing a doctor(s) on a regular basis. If not then there will be no way to prove your continuing need for Social Security because you will have no doctors who will be able to provide the medical information that is necessary for you to get medical treatment and continue with your Social Security benefits.

If you get any forms and we have represented you in the past, especially forms where they are looking at a review, then please contact our office. DO NOT fill out any paperwork until you have contacted our office and have scheduled an appointment so we can see what it is that you are receiving so we can assist in providing the appropriate paperwork that would be beneficial to you.

If you have any questions, please contact our office.
